Ambrosia Pure Honey From Colorado's Western Slope 16-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 4)

EXACTLY AS DECRIBED!!!!5

I signed up for the subscription and received my 4 bottles for only $11.77 with free shipping. With a subscription you can choose to reorder in 123 or 6 month intervals and cancel at any time. Ordering this way saves 15% plus free shipping. I ordered on the weekend and received my package in 5 days with the box and contents in very good condition.

The honey is exactly as described by the company. While it is unfiltered it is strained which the company does state. So if you're looking for honey with pieces of honey comb and such this honey is not for you. The important thing is that they heat the honey at a lower temperature which preserves the enzymes (destroyed in supermarket type honey). Side by side comparison to store bought honey there are notable differences. It is darker than store bought honey (the darker the better) the taste is quite different as well as a more natural texture.

So if you are looking for a healthy honey without the pieces of stuff in it I highly recommend this honey!!!!!More detail ...

Wedderspoon Raw Organic Manuka Honey Active 16+ 17.6-Ounce Jar

Manuka magick!5

This is an excellent quality Manuka Honey product. There is a bit of confusion over the UMF MGO and OMA rating thing. UMF is the original and trademarked. MGO is a newer rating system that does not directly correlate to UMF but is accurate nonetheless. OMA is Wedderspoon's own rating system for determining activity within the raw honey. From my reading it appears to be pretty equitable to UMF. This honey is also USDA Organic certified (although that doesn't mean as much these days) to ensure that there are no additive ingredients to the product.

As for usage I have two jars of this honey. I used the first on my wife's wounds following MOHS surgery for removal of skin cancer. The results were amazing and the surgeon and plastic surgeon both asked what we were using to allow the wounds to heal up so quickly with minimal scarring. There was also a staph infection as a result of the surgery that the honey took care of as well. It takes a bit of diligence to ensure daily dressing changes with fresh honey but the results pay off. I ended up pre-soaking gauze with the honey and sandwiching between two layers of plastic wrap to create more manageable "bandages". These were used by my wife when she traveled in addition to direct application to the cleaned wound bed.

Basic process: Clean wound with Hydrogen Peroxide follow with colloidal silver in nebulizer then drizzle honey into wound and cover wound with pre-soaked gauze pad. The last bit is to cover the pre-soaked pad with a waterproof dressing like a Telfa-style pad to reduce oozing onto clothing/bedding. Care must be taken in finding adhesives that do not irritate the skin too much with the frequent dressing changes. There are also larger waterproof wound dressings with silver-impregnated that might be a good combination. Main idea is to minimize air-space and keep honey in constant contact with wound bed.

If this all sounds new do some research on honey for wound care at the University of Waikato in New Zealand courtesy of Dr. Peter Molan.

Note this honey is not "sterilized" via gamma radiation (which is not supposed to reduce activity in the honey like pasteurization) but is still highly effective. Honey is resistant to most any spoilage due to its activity and the sterilization process is just an extra step some honey manufacturer's take (Comvita or Summerglow) to be able to sell their products as medical devices in the US. It will allow the honey to be FDA-approved. Again as I understand this is not a requirement but is done largely to gain approval for medical usage in hospitals and clinics. Check out Medihoney dressings. BTW I have also used this topically on oral canker sores with great effect! Sores dissappeared in days and not weeks! Applied directly 3 x day.

Lastly the other jar I use for tea and even coffee and it is delicious. It has a strong floral taste and finish (as would be expected) and is alittle more viscous than other Manuka honeys I have tried.

I have tried nearly all Manuka honey brands from NZ as I visit often and find this to be a great option for those of us who need a high-quality active raw Manuka honey without paying a load for shipping up the stuff from down under. Or you can just ask a friend heading that way to bring you back some :PMore detail ...

Nature's Hollow Honey Substitute 10 OZ

sugar-free honey3

This is a very good sugar-free syrup but I can't say that it tastes much like honey though it is thicker than ordinary pancake syrup. If you want more honey flavor you will have to mix in a little real honey and make it a low-sugar honey. Overall it's pretty good.More detail ...

Honey Granules 8 oz.

A wonderful product.5

Like another reviewer here I use this granulated honey for my tea and I use it for my coffee. It is oh so much better than white sugar. I had been in the habit of using the unprocessed sugar which was good but this is so much better.

This product does indeed give backed goods a bit of a different in a positive way flavor and I use it with cookies. I buy my granulate honey at a local health food shop and the price here even if you consider the shipping is quite competitive. The other advantage is that this stuff is becoming more and more popular in my area and our local shops are forever running out of it. It is nice to know I have a reliable source.

Highly recommend this product.

East Cape New Zealand Manuka Honey Active UMF 20+

It changed my life!5

East Cape Manuka Honey is incredible! It's fantastic for a variety of uses: 1) a spoonful approx. 20 minutes before meals seems to drastically reduce the chances of suffering gastro-intestinal distress (such as from IBS or other upset); 2) I haven't been sick with any colds or flu since consuming one or more spoonfuls a day even when repeatedly exposed to sick friends family and co-workers so I believe it boosts the immune system; 3) as a facial or spot treatment vs. acne (adult or teenager) this honey rapidly speeds healing of existing acne and prevention of future outbreaks; it also leaves my skin smooth and tight; 4) as a rapid wound healer there is nothing better I've found in nature or science. For me it works faster and better than any OTC antibacterial cream from reducing pain signals to promoting actual healing. One tiny 2.5 oz. jar lasts me about 4-6 weeks of conservative daily use. The honey has a smoky somewhat medicinal flavor that isn't very good but isn't bad either. You get used to it. After all the results are worth it!

Be warned not all honeys are created equal. Only New Zealand Manuka Honey with a UMF rating is legit because it is tested and certified by the New Zealand government to have the correct "Unique Manuka Factor" rating and purity. The reason New Zealand Manuka Honey is so powerful is the bees feast on the New Zealand Manuka tea tree plant (which is ten times more powerful than its Australian cousin). This results in their honey being loaded with antibacterial properties! Because Manuka Honey is rare and expensive a large number of fakes are available that claim to be "bio-active" or "UMF equivalent" to whatever UMF number (12+ 15+ etc.). These knock-offs do contain some Manuka Honey but are not 100% pure; they are cut with other honeys which make it cheaper to produce and less effective. Yet many will charge the same price as the real deal for this inferior product hoping customers won't know the difference! I've tested regular store-bought American honey vs. a "bio-active 15+" knock-off Manuka Honey vs. the "real deal": East Cape Manuka Honey UMF 20+. The American honey had minor benefits the knock-off Manuka brand offered a clear improvement (2-3 times better than American honey) but was still not strong enough. However the East Cape UMF 20+ gave me results that were right off the chart! I won't settle for anything less now.

To combat acne: You should wash first with Manuka Honey Propolis Soap. Apply the honey directly as a spot treatment or all over as a mask once or twice daily and leave on for 30-60 minutes then wash off with cold water.

When I first began using Manuka Honey I had quick results but like anything you have to stick with it or the acne comes back. If the honey doesn't get rid of your acne completely (like me although it did do an amazing job of reducing it) you should also try Manuka Oil 100% Pure East Cape 10ml/0.34oz (again you should wash first with Manuka Honey Propolis Soap) maybe alternating between the oil and the honey masks once each per day (whatever combination works best for you). The oil is even stronger and more concentrated than the honey; some people may find it too strong when applied directly. If this is you then you can try 2-3 drops diluted in a solution of water and/or witch hazel. The oil is also handy for healing minor wounds like hangnails paper cuts or cat scratches; I place a drop directly on the wound several times a day and it works like a charm. The only downside to the oil is it has a strong medicinal odor (not awful but not good) so I wouldn't use it right before leaving the house or inviting friends over. It might also sting a little when it first goes on but this should vanish within a few minutes.

Note that the higher the UMF rating the stronger the antibacterial properties. For therapeutic uses such as mentioned above I wouldn't go with less than UMF 15+ but prefer 20+. Natural Solutions/East Cape makes both and there are other brands that are also UMF-certified but I haven't tried them. All of my Manuka orders have been through Koru Naturals and they have been lightning fast to ship and quick to respond to emails (they've also securely packed my honey each time to avoid breakage in transit). Koru also offers a nice selection of other healthcare items from New Zealand (lanolin etc.).

One final word: I'm not a doctor. I'm not offering medical advice. Different sites offer different treatment suggestions (which I encourage you to read and consider before use). I can't guarantee Manuka will work miracles for you but I know it did for me! Both my MD and naturopath proved useless in diagnosing or treating my skin problems; problems that had plagued me for nine years. Only Manuka proved effective and I'd tried everything from prescription drugs to diet changes. Your results may vary but if you suffer from any of the problems I've mentioned above and nothing else has worked you owe it to yourself to at least try Manuka. It changed my life!More detail ...

wish i could like it2

my shipment arrived with a lot of the plastic bottles dented up. customer service was so wonderful to deal with-a plus. i took a taste from one though and it's so strong of a flavor. i buy raw honey all the time and they're always firm to the touch but this one is flowing like regular store bought honey. my kids don't like this type of raw honey at all the taste is too strong. maybe it's just our taste but if you're into the normal flavor of honey this brand is definitely going to throw your tastebuds off. if you're into different flavors then this is the one for you.More detail ...

White Gold Honey 23-Ounce Container (Pack of 2)

Most affordable monofloral raw honey I've found anywhere; has health benefits5

I truly searched for affordable monofloral raw honey. White Gold is the least expensive one I've found taking into consideration Amazon's free shipping for this product - barely over .51 ¢ per ounce. I've already placed several orders for it not only for myself but as gifts because it's a real treat. It's over 40% more expensive at my local Whole F**ds.

White Gold owned by Continental Systems is real raw honey. I've talked with the company representative on more than one occasion. First they don't heat this honey whatsoever - it is cold packed. It's raw.

Wikipedia defines RAW HONEY as honey that is exists without adding heat above 120 °F. Wikipedia goes on to state: "Local raw honey is sought after by allergy sufferers as the pollen impurities are thought to lessen the sensitivity to hay fever." White Gold is not heated at all.

Monofloral honey is somewhat hard to find and always has a distinctive flavor since it comes from one plant species' nectar. Monofloral clover honey is pale white but a lot of polyfloral honeys are labeled as clover honey for the retail trade. There are many different types of monofloral honeys so you can experiment and find out which is your favorite. Keep in mind that heat processing darkens (browns) honey.

Further White Gold is hand-packed and not whipped (aka creamed). That's significant because honey manufacturers often whip honey to make it more spreadable but White Gold is already highly spreadable without this extra processing.

White Gold is a logical beginning when you are trying to discover your favorite raw monofloral honey. It has a unique fragrance that will probably be totally unfamiliar to you. You'll probably like it very much right from the start and recognize the clover taste.

In my opinion the comparison of this raw pure clover honey to pasteurized standard table honey labeled clover is akin to comparing Grade A maple syrup to Grade B maple syrup. And then in addition one must consider that raw honey has health benefits that pasteurized honey completely lacks.

This Ambrosia honey has a mild spicy sweet taste that reminds me of cinnamon sugar. I've tried it with hot biscuits and butter and think it would be great in oatmeal or with french toast. Ambrosia Pure Honey From Colorado's Western Slope 16-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 4)

Average flavor but....4

I try to support anything USA made and especially businesses that are "doing the right thing." IMHO this honey has so special flavor or texture in fact it crystallizes even when stored unopened. But I like the fact that it supports bee populations in a healthy locale. With the plight of the declining bee as it struggles to survive we need environments such as this to ensure the bee and our agriculture systems survive. So for that reason and since it is raw and unfiltered I will continue to buy this product. Other honeys you may want to try that are sold on AMZN are Cal's Tupelo raw honey made in GA (incredibly good and smooth) and outside of the US consider Manuka Honey from New Zealand (amazing health benefits) and my very favorite is Bernard Michaud 1000 Flower Honey from the South of France. It is very expensive but truly heavenly and worth the price as a special treat. I use this one solely on toast or pastries or by the spoonful. At Tropical Traditions I buy their Canadian organic raw and unfiltered honey that in order to be somewhat cost effective I buy it in a 15# pail that lasts a year. I use honey mainly during the fall and winter for constant tea sweetening (yes. I gain a few pounds) but I rationalize it's healthier than organic sugar and it supports bee farmers.More detail ...
